I love independent movies. In my mind the best movies win independent film festivals, not Oscars. There are many great places to find good indie films, one of my favorite being Netflix because of their wide range of selection and indie fan community. You can also find great stuff on Google Video, YouTube, and others. But the problems with some of those sites is, dare I say, they have too much content. Don’t get me wrong - I am a proponent of user generated content and social media but when I want to find something that’s good fast I do not go to YouTube.
What’s the answer? Liberated Films. According to their website, their mission is as follows:
Liberated Films is an online film community. We have three goals that are focused around ‘Liberating’ filmmakers, film enthusiasts, and those less fortunate.
These are not your average YouTube videos with some teenage girl spouting angst into her webcam. These are well produced films with stories and purpose.
